Hyderabad: Cloud formed over the city on Sunday evening, and the IMD predicted that light to moderate rains and thundershowers could be expected in isolated places in the state.
The IMD said a trough that had developed at mean sea level over the southwest Bay of Bengal off the Tamil Nadu-Sri Lanka coast had moved westwards and extended from the Comorin sea to South Chhattisgarh across interior Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Telangana state.
There was no large change in the maximum temperatures in the state. The mercury stood 1-2ºC above normal, and Adilabad and Bhadracha-lam recorded the highest day temperature of 38ºC. Adilabad also recorded the lowest temperature of 18ºC along with Nalgonda.
A report from Visakhapatnam said a “wind discontinuity” had developed over Chhattis-garh stretching up to Karnataka. This would result in humid winds from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea converging over Telangana state.
