Hyderabad: Panic gripped students and teachers after a poisonous cobra was spotted in the school premises on Saturday. The school watchman saw the snake at the main entrance door in the afternoon at Model School at Palamakula, near Shamshabad.
He soon alerted the teachers and students to stay in their classes. The snake came inside through a window. The local Gram Panchayat staff reached the school after information was passed on to them by school authorities. They killed it after a few minutes.
A teacher appreciated the alertness of the watchman which averted a major trouble. It was near break time the snake was spotted. Nearly 400 students would have come out of the main door when the bell rang. Luckily, he spotted the snake in the nick of time and warned everybody to stay put in their respective class rooms, he said.
