Way Beyond' of Wayanad tourism goes viral

Three-minute promotional video gets 6300 shares, 4 lakh likes on Facebook in 24 hours

KALPETTA: ‘Way Beyond,’ the three-minute promotional video launched by the District Tourism Promotion Council of Wayanad as part of rebranding Wayanad tourism, has gone viral on social networking sites. With many prominent personalities, including film actress Manju Warrior, sharing the album on Facebook, within 24 hours the album got 6300 shares and more than 4 lakh likes.

Designed as a travelogue of three persons, who start from three points, the video weaves in theme after theme. The waterfalls, meadows, wildlife, jungle, trekking, ethnic food, agriculture, paddy fields and even the banana farming of Wayanad have been framed into the video. DTPC manager C.R. Hariharan told DC that the video beautifully exposes the best of Wayanad to the outer world.

“With the overwhelming response we came to know that it is going to be a hit on online networking sites within hours of the launch,” he said. “With this we hope the message of tourism industry of Wayanad would reach out to the unreached groups and unexplored markets across the globe,” he added. The video was produced by Identity Associates, Kochi.
