Rayalaseema University vice chancellor seeks probe against graft

On the demand for a probe by a sitting judge, the Vice-Chancellor said, I am ready for anything provided they should prove beyond any doubt.

Kurnool: Rayalaseema University Vice-Chancellor Y. Narasimhu slammed the allegations of corruption and nepotism levelled against it by Rayalaseema Parirakshna Samiti president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy. He offered to resign and leave the place if a shred of evidence was shown about his involvement.

Refuting the allegations, he said “Any irregularity that has happened should be brought to my notice. I will resign and leave immediately. I don't need anybody's permission. I can just hand over the letter to the registrar and leave this place.”

On the demand for a probe by a sitting judge, the Vice-Chancellor said, “I am ready for anything provided they should prove beyond any doubt. They have been making the same allegations for the past one month but have not found anything so far.”

He said that he was trying to bring a modicum of academic culture to the university. Academic strengthening is of highest priority to him. The university will introduce a post-graduate programme in Journalism from the next academic year.

He said that in collaboration with National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA), the university would be offering a two- year M.Sc programme in Earth Sciences.

The university is also making efforts to launch a refurbished website next week.
