ALAPPUZHA: The Vallikunnam police on Friday registed a case against Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) general secretary Subash Vasu on the basis of a complaint by 44 girls studying in Vellapally Natesan College of Engineering, Kattachira near Kayamkulam. Sub-inspector V. Ajith Kumar said that the girl students alleged Vasu threatened them by using unparliamentarily language while they were protesting against the management over suspension of two of their classmates.

“The incident had happened on October 31. By the time we reached the spot, they had already filed a complaint with us against Vasu. When we asked them specifically if they still stood by their complaint, they told us they were not interested in getting Mr Vasu booked,” Mr Ajith Kumar said. “Representatives of students arrived at the station on Friday and told us they were willing to pursue the case. They had lodged an official complaint with us as per our demand. The case was registered on this complaint,” the SI said.

Meanwhile, the students alleged that a group of people led by Mr Vasu beat up a student who was protesting against the management. “When girls were trying to protect the student, Mr Vasu became angry and snatched the ID cards dangling from the neck of some of them,” he added.
