State Machinery on Toes to Complete Govt Scheme Distributions

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s October 12 deadline for officials to extend pending welfare schemes is keeping the state machinery on its toes, with all leaves cancelled for the next 10 days, given that the Election Commission may notify the polls anytime after October 10.

Benefits under Gruha Lakshmi, BC Bandhu, Minority Bandhu, Dalit Bandhu, and 2BHKs are under Rao’s lens.

On Friday, Rao will launch the CM’s Breakfast Scheme to cover over 23 lakh students of Classes 1-10 in 27,147 government schools.

As per daily reports submitted to the CMO, 4.92 lakh Bathukamma sarees were distributed to women on Day 1 (Wednesday) and 5.12 lakh on Thursday. Over 85 lakh sarees have been supplied to districts for distribution.

Similarly, 18,000 sports kits at a cost of Rs 100 crore were sent to districts for distribution to youths. Each kit comprises 23 sporting items, including cricketing equipment, volleyballs, air pumps, dumbbells, discus throw gear, six tennikoit rings, four skipping ropes, three plastic whistles and a stopwatch. In addition, T-shirts with Rao's pictures are also being distributed.

Official estimates indicated 1.29 lakh pending allotment letters under Dalit Bandhu and allotments for 3,000 beneficiaries in each district under Gruha Lakshmi. Following the allotments, the government will credit '10 lakh each under Dalit Bandhu and Rs 1 lakh, in the first instalment of Gruha Lakshmi, for house construction.

Allotment letters for Rs 1 lakh each to BCs and minorities were also being prepared.
