SCR changes train name to charge more
Hyderabad: SCR has changed train numbers for three services, one of them to Hyderabad, and will run them as Suvidha specials where the fares will be higher.
The fare on special trains is charged at Tatkal rates — Rs 100 to Rs 500 more depending on the class of travel.
In Suvidha trains, the first 20 per cent tickets are charged at base fare plus Tatkal. The base fare increases by 50 per cent for every 20 per cent seats thereafter and Tatkal charges are also levied.
Officials said the decision was taken depending upon the demand. Of the three trains, two have been changed from special to Suvidha, one has been recategorised from Suvidha to special.
Train 07116 Kochuveli-Hyderabad special has been renumbered as Train 82703 and will run as a Suvidha Special on October 10.
There will be no change in the fare for early birds who have already booked tickets on these trains; those booking after the change of category of trains will have to pay the changed fares.
Train 08354 Villupuram-Visakhapatnam special has been renumbered as Train 82854 and will run as Suvidha Special on October 9, 13 and 27. Train 02854 Ernakulam-Howrah Suvidha special, which passes through stations in the SCR jurisdiction, will be renumbered as Train 02856 and run as a special train on October 11 and 18.
