Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam moves to preserve rainwater
TIRUPATI: TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal called on the officials of forest and engineering wings to find out the mechanisms to be used to preserve every drop of rainwater. The review meeting with senior officers of TTD was held in the chambers of TTD EO in the TTD administrative building in Tirupati on Monday. The EO reviewed various developmental activities pertaining to various departments in TTD along with Tirupati JEO P. Bhaskar.
He said, “Due to the recent rains, Kapilateertham and Malavadigundem are flowing in full swing from Tirumala Hills. We will come out with a sustainable mechanism to preserve these waters for a future purpose.” Later, the EO instructed the engineering wing to consider the recommendations made by the police department to avoid accidents on ghat roads.
“A decision in this regard for laying speed breakers and crash barriers may be taken after the joint inspection by a team of officers comprising Tirumala JEO, CVSO and SE II,” the EO said. The EO also instructed the engineering wing to complete the pending civil works in Tiruchanoor, Kodandaramalayam, Kapilateertham and Vontimitta temples within stipulated time. “Archaka quarters should be constructed at TTD centres at Bhuvaneshwar, Kanyakumari, Kurukshetra and Hyderabad. Proper manpower assessment for FMS related works should be made by the officials and a report is submitted,” the EO said.
