Vigilance to scrutinise records linked to K Babu
KOCHI: The team of Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau officials involved in raiding the residence of former minister K. Babu and his relatives is expected to conduct scrutiny of over 100 documents seized during the raids. The documents would be first submitted to the Vigilance Court in Muvattupuzha and then the probe team would seek the custody of the documents that needed for further examination.
Sources said VACB officials have recovered more than 100 documents during the raids including 30 from the residence of Mr. Babu, 85 from his relatives, and from suspected business associates. The officials are also likely to summon two persons, Baburam and Mohanan, suspected to be benamis of the former minister for questioning in the next two days. The probe team has also taken steps to freeze five bank accounts in the name of Mr. Babu and his children. The former minister meanwhile has completely refuted the charges.
