Thiruvananthapuram: The admission supervisory committee (ASC) headed by Justice J. M. James has sought an explanation from self-financing medical colleges about complaints from the students, parents and the public that some of them have not opened their websites to apply for admissions under the management quota. As per the directive the ASC published through its website, colleges should mandatorily allow students to submit their applications.
The directive was sent along with the prospectus for the admissions of 2016-17, provisionally approved and emailed to the above medical colleges. The sent mail report showed that the emails were delivered to the respective college. The office of the ASC has also directly verified from the medical colleges about the receipt of the prospectus approval order. When the ASC monitored their websites, no one was active and available, as required, as per the directives dated August 4. It caused a lot of difficulties for the MBBS aspirants.
The commission has made it clear that if the medical college fails to provide the website, as it directed, it will be considered as a violation of its order. The ASC informed that MBBS admission made, without following the due procedure, as per the directives and the prospectus conditions, will not be approved. Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) will be directed not to register such candidates. The admissions will be rejected after enquiry. The ASC has sent the order through email to all the medical colleges.
