NSUI leaders held for trying to stage protest at Assembly

Hyderabad: Alleging that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had betrayed the unemployed youth, NSUI state president Balmuri Venkat on Friday demanded that the state government provide financial assistance for them in line with the BRS promise ahead of the 2018 Assembly elections.

He was speaking a NSUI protest at the Legislative Assembly, called to press the demand for payment of the dole for jobless persons. Police detained the activists.

Venkat also demanded that the government postpone the Group-II exam as it was organising many different exams at the same time. Because of this, a number of candidates are unable to attend the various exams. "The government has failed to provide fee reimbursement for students and no scholarships were released for the students for pursue their studies.

NSUI state general secretary Md Akbar said that there are a number of vacancies in universities and the government failed to fill them. The government must construct new buildings for social welfare hostels and provide financial assistance for unemployed youth, he said.
