CHENNAI: Organs of 28-year-old entrepreneur J. Senthamil Selvan were donated after he passed away in an accident. After sustaining serious head injuries and being affected with Subarachnoid Hemorrhage on collision with a two-wheeler in Avadi on July 22, Senthamil was rushed to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC), where he succumbed to his injuries on July 25.
K. Janakiraman and Savithri, parents of the deceased, volunteered to donate his organs. After receiving the approval from them, doctors at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre harvested kidney, eyes and heart valves. The liv-er was transplanted on a 50-year-old man from Cuddalore and one kidney was transplanted on a 43-year-old male from Arcot at the hospital on the same day at SRMC. One kidney was shared with another hospital.
