Bengaluru: Not being able to cope with depression, a mother and her daughter hanged themselves at their residence in Kumara Layout in Attibele police limits on Thursday. The deceased have been identified as Sindhu (35) and Deepthi (17), a class 12 student at a private college.
Sindhu was married to Rajshekhar, who works as a supervisor at a garment factory in South Africa. Rajashekhar visited the family once in six months and the couple allegedly did not have a cordial relationship. Sindhu often fought with her husband over his being away from home and was insisting that he come back to the city. Sindhu, who was said to be depressed, was under medication.
The mother and daughter allegedly hanged themselves on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning Deepthi’s grandmother called her on the phone but did not get any response. She rushed to the spot only to find her daughter and granddaughter hanging. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating.
