Hyderabad: Consultancy owner shoots himself in Merc along ORR
Hyderabad: A city-based businessman who runs a job consultancy reportedly shot himself with a country-made pistol in a car on the Outer Ring Road at Manchirevula under Na-rsingi police station limits in Cyberabad commissionerate.
Faizan Ahmed, 32, who stays near Lower Tank Bund, suffered a bullet injury in his head and has been admitted at a hospital in Gachibowli and is said to be in a critical condition. Police is investigating to find how the victim found the pistol and why he shot himself. The suspected attempt to suicide took place at around 3 pm in the car that was parked beside the ORR on the Shamshabad-Gachibowli stretch.
Passersby who heard the gunshot from the car rushed to see a man sitting in the driver’s seat with a pistol in his hand and blood all over his abdomen.
They alerted the police through Dial 100 and the call was diverted to the nearest ORR patrolling vehicle, who then alerted Narsingi police. Patrol-ling personnel along with an ambulance and Narsingi police rushed to the spot and shifted Ahmed to a hospital where he is in the intensive care unit.
Ahmed was identified based on the car registration number. Police said he runs a placement consultancy at Punjagutta. Faizan had taken the car on rent from Driven By You Mobility LLP since October 2018 and was found to be paying the rent without fail. During an inspection of the scene, police recovered a country-made 7.65 mm pistol and an empty cartridge inside the car, which had blood spilled over the driver’s seat and the seat next to it.
Madhapur DCP A. Venkateshwar Rao said Ahmed was stated to be facing a financial crunch and was unable to come out of the crisis. “This is suspected to be the reason behind his extreme step,” the DCP said.
