Clear Gulbarga fort encroachments: Karnataka High Court
The PIL was filed by Sharan Desai, a Bengaluru resident.
Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday directed the Central Government to take action against unauthorised constructions within the regulated and prohibited areas of Gulbarga fort.
The court said this while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL), which alleged that there were 62 unauthorised constructions within the prohibited area and 114 unauthorised constructions in the regulated area of the fort.
The PIL was filed by Sharan Desai, a Bengaluru resident. He alleged the authorities concerned have not taken any action to implement the instructions by the Central Government to the deputy commissioner to remove illegal encroachments inside the fort.
