Hyderabad: Killer potholes in Hyderabad continue to be a danger to citizens. “The bike dragged him (Kondreddy Edukondalu) for about five metres. But he escaped serious injury because the driver of the car behind him applied his brakes and the vehicle came to a halt a few inches away from his head,” Mr Naresh, an eyewitness, said. Traffic came to a standstill as passersby rushed to his aid and they lifted him to the side of the road in a semi-conscious state, along with the bike.
A paramedic passing by noticed the fallen man and rushed to provide him first aid and some moral support. Workers from a nearby shop said that a similar incident occurred in the morning on Sunday when a bike fell while negotiating the same pothole. The rider missed coming under a city bus after the alert driver swerved the vehicle in time. As soon as the incident occurred in the evening, workers from the shops and auto drivers filled the pothole with stones and twigs to alert commuters. Edukondalu was rushed to a private hospital.
