Romeo and Juliet' headed for a split? Peter mulling divorce with Indrani
Mumbai: A day after the ‘touching’ letter written by Peter Mukerjea to his murder accused wife Indrani Mukerjea surfaced, reports have emerged that the former media honcho is mulling getting a divorce.
According to a media report, Peter’s lawyer Mihir Gheewala revealed that he is ‘keen to get a divorce’ and the legal process has been delayed because he is languishing in Arthur Road jail after being made co-accused in the Sheena Bora murder case. Gheewala said Peter had first expressed the desire to split from his wife at the beginning of this year and felt that the ‘marriage has ended’.
This twist to the ongoing tale comes just after a January letter written by Peter to Indrani emerged in the media.

"God is great and will see an end to this, and like Romeo & Juliet we will hopefully see each other soon — in court or at home one day,” Peter had written in the one page letter dated January 3, to wish Indrani on her birthday.
"Mumu, my dearest. Today is a special day in your life and mine too therefore. Your birthday is a day we have always spent together since we met and this is the first year we're so close and yet so far," Peter wrote.
Referring to the judicial proceedings against them, Peter (59), lodged in Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai, hoped that she could prove her innocence in the case soon, 'and get clear of this nightmare in good time'. But things have changed since then.
Aabad Ponda, another lawyer representing Peter, said the letter was the first note he sent to Indrani, who, until then, had sent close to 40 letters to him professing her innocence in the case. The lawyer indicated that Peter wrote the note to Indrani just to make her feel better on her birthday.
Even in the note, Peter hinted the same -- “This is a short note just for today as a real birthday special to touch you and reach out to you on your day and a big hug and moooah to you," he wrote in the note, before signing off with, "Yours, P xxx".
The former media honcho was arrested on November 19 last year for his alleged role in the murder conspiracy.
Mukerjea's wife Indrani, lodged in the Byculla Ladies Prison, is the prime accused in the 2012 murder of her daughter, Sheena (24) from previous relationship, along with her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai.
Sheena was allegedly strangled in a car in April 2012 in Mumbai and her body was later burnt and dumped in a forest in adjoining Raigad district. In its chargesheet filed against Indrani, Khanna and Rai, the CBI had said that the murder could be a fallout of certain financial transactions involving Sheena.
