Health kiosks at bus terminals: Karnataka Health Minister
Bengaluru: Health Minister U.T. Khader announced on Wednesday that the health department is considering opening health kiosks at all the major bus terminals in the state.
He was speaking after inaugurating an emergency medical unit and round-the-clock 108 ambulance service at the BMTC bus terminal at Majestic. The medical unit will be operational between 6 am and 10 pm, while the ambulance will be stationed round the clock. The new facilities were launched as part of the 76th Bus Day celebrations.
Chief guest and Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Dinesh Gundurao urged the police and the BMTC to ban road-side vendors in underpasses and overbridges which connect BMTC, KSRTC and railway stations. BMTC Chairman Nabhiraj Jain said that medical units will also be opened in Shivajinagar and KR Market bus terminals soon.
