Infant dies days after mom burns herself in Hyderabad

The father and the husband of the deceased are under treatment at Osmania Hospital
The woman, who sustained 95 per cent burns is now battling for life at a hospital in Jamshedpur in the neighbouring Jharkhand state.
Hyderabad: A woman, Madhavi, who set herself afire after a fight with her father in LB Nagar on March 1, had injured her infant daughter also in the process. The kid succumbed to her injuries on Sunday. The woman poured kerosene on herself to commit suicide but the room was very small some of the fuel also fell on her one-and-a-half year old daughter Priyanka, her father and her husband.
“Madhavi died three days ago due to the injuries and little Priyanka succumbed to burns on Sunday. The father and the husband of the deceased are under treatment at Osmania Hospital,” said LB Nagar sub-inspector G. Srinivas said.
The post-mortem of the child was conducted and a case was booked under Section 306 of IPC which relates to abetment to suicide.
