Railway minister reviews Kavach

Hyderabad: Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw held a review on the Kavach, an automated train protection technology developed by the railways, at Iriset, the Indian Railways Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications, here on Saturday. He directed engineers to chalk out strategies to instal the technology at a faster pace on trains and to improve the efficacy of the indigenous system.

Interacting with around 200 engineers who were undergoing training at Iriset, he encouraged them to think big to find solutions to problems. He urged them to adopt world class modern technology to find solutions to meet the expectations of the public. He also answered a few queries raised by the trainees with regard to the challenges of multiple technologies and infrastructure creation.

Later, Vaishnav interacted with intellectuals and discussed the benefits of the recent Union Budget. Expanding on the benefits of the MMTS Phase 2, he said it would save travel for the residents of Malkajgiri, Alwal, Neredmet, Moula Ali and Sanathnagar. He pointed out that residents of these areas who work in the IT corridor had shifted to Hitec City due to the travel time.
