Motorists told to pay tax or face fine, vehicle seizure

Warangal: Deputy transport commissioner (DTC) Mamindla Chandrasekhar Goud urged motorists to pay quarterly transport tax without delay or else the vehicle will be seized during the inspections apart from imposing a huge penalty.

The DTC chaired a review meeting with the transport officials of Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jagtial and Rajanna Sircilla districts here at the transport office in Thimmapur of Karimnagar district on Wednesday.

Chandrashekar ordered the officials to take appropriate steps and strive hard to achieve the revenue target set by the government for the year 2022-23 along with increasing road safety measures.

Officials were told to focus on the vehicles carrying overloads and those without fitness and tax clearance certificates by intensifying vehicle checks.
Stressing creating awareness among motorists about T-App Folio app, he advised the officials to approach collectors to take steps for the allotment of plots and construction of permanent transport office buildings in their respective districts without offices.

The transport officials of four districts Ranga Rao, Kondal Rao, Uma Maheshwar Rao, Naga Lakshmi, Sirajuddin, Masood Ali, Rajini Devi, Vamshidhar, Kishore Chandra Reddy, Ranjith, Ravi Kumar, Bhim Singh, Venkata Ramana, Laxmi Narayana, Ashok, Karunakar and Dinesh were present.
