Election Commission of India Ends MCC in Hyderabad After Elections Conclusion

Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India on Monday has lifted the model code of conduct (MCC) with immediate effect, at the conclusion of the Assembly elections. The MCC came into effect on October 9, when the elections were announced. The order lifting the MCC was communicated to the Chief Secretary and Chief Electoral Officer.

Over Rs 800 crore worth cash and properties had been seized citing the MCC, and the ECI suspended five senior police officials, and transferred four district collectors and 13 IPS officers.
