Cycles at Miyapur Metro in a week
Hyderabad: Commuters will soon be able to rent cycles from the cycle stand at Miyapur Metro station and use them to get to their destinations. Services will be operational in a week. In the meantime, the cycle stand has become one of the many selfie points in the area.
N.V.S. Reddy, the mana-ging director of Hyde-rabad Metro Rail, said, “The cycles are ready for use. We will ask the authorities to start operating them in one week.”
The officer overseeing the cycle station in Miya-pur, said, “Currently the-re are about 25 cycles, but we will have more cycles once the service is operational.
There will be around 500 bike stations alo-ng the Metro corridor.” Passengers may rent cycles from the stand using a dedicated app, or their Metro cards.
In anticipation of the launch of rental services, people are trying to understand the nuances of the GPS-enabled smart cycle.
Three different kinds of cycle passes are available – ranging from weekly to yearly. While registration is free, a deposit of '500 should be credited before it can be used.
People using the pay-as-you-go option will be charged Rs 10 for 30 minutes and Rs 25 for an hour. Every additional 30 minutes will cost them Rs 30. After eight hours, every additional hour will cost them Rs 100. Charges will vary for member pass-holders.
