Davanagere: M R Chandrashekhar, nephew of Honnali MLA and Chief Minister’s Parliamentary Secretary MP Renukacharya, who had gone missing on Sunday was found dead on Thursday. Chandrashekhar's body was found in his car in the Upper Tunga Canal near Soratur village.
Chandrashekhar had gone missing on Sunday. Police teams and family members were searching for him.
Sources said that the police who spotted some parts of a car near the canal tracked his Car in the canal. The body of Chandrashekhar was also found in the car. The vehicle was removed from the canal.
It is said that Chandrashekhar had left home for Shivamogga on Sunday. He had returned but had not reached home. As his mobile was found switched off, the family members along with the police contacted his friends and people whom he knew. A case was registered at Honnali Police Station.
Preliminary reports stated that the body was found in the car’s rear seat.
People and family members have raised doubts about the death of Chandrashekhar.
Chandrashekhar’s father M P Ramesh is a Class1 contractor.
BJP leaders including Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa have condoled the death.
