ABVP continues to protest over Srilatha's suicide
HYDERABAD: ABVP members continued their protest against the management of Narayana institutions by burning the effigy of the Dean in front of the college premises in Ramanthapur. A statewide bandh of Narayana institutions was called for by ABVP on Friday. Yella Swamy, an ABVP member said, “We staged a dharna in front of Narayana colleges but around 15 of the members were detained by the police. However, it will not deter us from getting justice for the lady teachers who have been harassed.”
It has been alleged that Srilatha, the former principal of Narayana Institution committed suicide two years ago and ABVP members demanded a re-investigation of her case as she had reportedly been harassed by the management. A conversation between the current principal, Saritha Agarwal and Naveen Goud, the vice-principal of the Narayana college, Ramanthapur was recorded as evidence against harassment. “We have provided the audio clipping to the police and it is also being shared virally on social media. We are glad that the police has decided to question Jaysimha Reddy, DGM as he should know what is going on in his institution,” said Yella Swamy.
