Registrations open for Hyderabad's Freedom 10K Run

Race director said the race would have three primary categories Elite 10K, open 10K run with a timing chip and the open 5K Run.

Hyderabad: The Freedom 10K Run 2016 will be held on November 27 at Necklace Road. The run, which is envisaged to promote health, fitness and sports and to drive home the idea that “Each Step Counts” will see the participation of over 10,000 people.

Race director Murali Nannapanni said, “The run is designed to celebrate the spirit of Hyderabad and promote running as a primary form of fitness along with a healthy life.”

He said the race would have three primary categories — Elite 10K, open 10K run with a timing chip and the open 5K Run. The Elite 10K is for professionals who have completed the 10K run in 36 minutes (men) and 45 minutes (women) in the last one year.

Each runner will be provided with a goodie bag as per the category of participation at the exhibition on November 26 at the People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, between 9 am and 6 pm.”

“Hyderabad will be witnessing enthusiastic participation from runners across India and overseas with an objective to run and celebrate the spirit of Hyderabad and spread the message of ‘Eat Healthy, Live healthy’,” the director added.
