Kerala: Security to keep public off Navy Week celebrations
Naval exercise will be conducted along Rajendra Maidan and Fort Kochi on December 11.

KOCHI: The Southern Naval Command is planning to conduct a host of programmes as part of the annual Navy Week celebrations. But, unlike previous years, the Naval Base will not be open for the public due to security issues, said Commodore G. Prakash, while addressing a press conference here on Thursday.
Naval exercise will be conducted along Rajendra Maidan and Fort Kochi on December 11.
As part of the celebrations, school students will be allowed to visit warships and aircraft from December 18 to 20. There will be a performance of the Navy band at Durbar Hall Ground on December 10. Finals of the quiz contest in which 14 schools participated, will be held on December 20. Blood donation camp and cultural programmes are also being planned. Commodore Sreejith Warrier also attended the press meet.
