List not sent; Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee cuts a sorry figure
Thiruvananthapuram: The KPCC failed to send the list of the 282- member governing council to the meeting of returning officers held at AICC headquarters in New Delhi in time on Monday. Mr Sudarshan Nachiappan, returning officer assigned to Kerala, cut a sorry figure as the KPCC sent the list to him only on Monday evening, several hours after the central election authority meeting dispersed.
Other returning officers of the states and union territories submitted the list of the respective PCCs before central election authority chairman Mullapally Ramachandran. The meeting was also attended by its other members Madhusudan Mistry and Bhubaneswar Kalita. “Mullapally, Vatakara MP, was let down by the KPCC leadership due to its negligence,” said an AICC leader.
The list consists of over 24 members of the ‘A’ group led by former chief minister Oommen Chandy. A ‘secret agenda’ has been hatched by Mr Chandy to demand the election of PCC president in Kerala after Mr Rahul Gandhi is elevated as AICC president, it is said. “Chandy’s group wants an elected leader at the helm of the party,” said the AICC leader.
