Chakkarakkal police, students to counter Blue Whale

Team of Chakkarakkal police and college students to launch game.

KANNUR: While the Blue Whale kills or tempts youngsters to end their lives after making them feel insecure about living in society, another creative game is in the offing, but this one makes them realise the value of life and surroundings. It is the joint initiative of the Chakkarakkal police led by SI Biju P. and Ambitious College of Advanced Studies here. The Game, that will be launched in 10 days, first in this college and then other institutions, has 10 levels, where youngsters were given tasks to complete in each level, said Mr Biju.

“In the first level, students would be encouraged to give a kiss on their mothers’ cheeks. This level, inspired from a similar project envisioned by a team in Vadakara, is aimed at tightening family bonds. Level 2 is to read and appreciate 10 different books we suggest. Level 3 has visits to old age homes or orphanages. In the next level, the youngsters would be encouraged to go on a picnic. Following that, the next task would be to play in mud fields,” he added.

Mr Biju went onto say, that in the next level, the youngsters would be asked to spend time with the elderly and then visit a cancer centre or a palliative centre. In the eighth level, they would be encouraged to meet their old teachers and let them speak about you back then. In the ninth level, they have to earn Rs 1000 by hard work. “Only those who have completed the above nine tasks, would get entry to the 10th level. For one month, these youngsters will have to spend time in college and they would not be able to use mobile phones. Landlines would be given to be used at restricted times. As per a timetable, they would carry out all activities including cooking, cleaning, reading, music etc,” he added. 20 youngsters have come forward for the first trial of the levels, envisioned by principal Janeesh K.C.
