Tamil Nadu CM responding adequately to treatment: Apollo
Chennai: Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa is “responding adequately” to the comprehensive treatment plan including appropriate antibiotics, respiratory support and other allied clinical measures, the Apollo Hospitals said here on Monday.
In a health bulletin, the Apollo Hospitals, where Ms Jayalalithaa was admitted on September 22, said the Chief Minister continues to improve and a team of doctors is monitoring her.
“The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu who is undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital, Greams Road, continues to improve. The treatment plan including appropriate antibiotics, respiratory support and other allied clinical measures are presently being continued to treat the infection,” the statement issued by Apollo Hospitals’ COO Subbiah Viswanathan said.
The statement comes four days after British medical expert Dr Richard Beale joined the team of doctors treating the Chief Minister. Dr Beale is a top-notch expert on acute lung injury, multiple organ failure and general intensive care.
Monday’s statement further said the CM is responding adequately to the comprehensive treatment being given to her. “A team of doctors is collectively monitoring her treatment. The Chief Minister has been advised further stay in the Hospital for treatment,” it added.
The hospital had on Sunday said Dr Beale examined Ms Jayalalithaa, evaluated her various clinical reports had detailed discussions with the expert group of doctors treating her and concurred with the present line of management.
