TS Government Plans Foundation Stone Laying for IT Tower in Malakpet

HYDERABAD: The state government will announce a date for laying foundation stone for the IT Tower on a 12-acre plot in Malakpet in the Old City, IT minister K.T. Rama Rao told AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Friday. The government is waiting to enter into memoranda of understanding with IT companies before going ahead with the work on the IT Tower, Rama Rao said in response to a question from Owaisi.

Gampa: Extend KLIS to Kamareddy, Yellareddy

BRS Bhiknoor legislator Gampa Goverdhan urged the government to immediately take up Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) works to irrigate 2 lakh acres through the project in Kamareddy and Yellareddy. The government had said it will irrigate 2 lakh acres and work should be taken up to help farmers, Goverdhan said during Zero Hour, a period during which MLAs are allowed to make mention of subjects of importance that have not been listed in the business list for the day.

BRS MLA says put off Gr 11 exams

BRS LB Nagar legislator D. Sudheer Reddy asked the government to postpone the TSPSC Group II exams scheduled for August 29 and 30 to October. Speaking during Zero Hour, the BRS legislator said other recruitment exams for recruiting Gurukula, polytechnic, and junior lecturers were also scheduled between August and September. It would be tough on the nearly 6 lakh applicants who registered for Group II exams to switch from syllabus to syllabus and appear for the exams.

I.T. industry thriving on peace: KTR

IT industry and exports from Telangana are doing well thanks to stable and able leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, IT minister K.T. Rama Rao told the Assembly during the Question Hour on Friday. Unlike Haryana's Gurugram, an IT hub which is now rocked by violence, Hyderabad and Telangana are peaceful and stable. As a result, the state has 44 per cent of tech sector employees in the country and, in one year, the state’s IT exports had touched Rs 57,707 crore.
