Hyderabad: The Uppal police on Wednesday booked a case against a 12-year-old boy under the POCSO Act for allegedly “outraging the modesty” of a five-year-old girl. The police said that the girl has been sent for medical examination and further action would be initiated after receiving the report.
Uppal inspector P. Venkateshwarlu said the boy, 12, and the girl, 5, live in the same residential building at Habsiguda under Uppal police station limits. The boy has a pet cat and girl is also fond of the cat. They used to play with the cat every day.
On Wednesday, when the parents of both children were out at work, a neighbour informed the girl’s parents that the boy sexually assaulted their daughter. They rushed to the house to only find that he only kissed the girl on her cheek, said the inspector. However, the police said that it was a case of outraging modesty.
