25,000 acres to come under Musi plan
Hyderabad: Telangana irrigation minister T. Harish Rao has assured water facility to 25,000 acres under the Musi project this Kharif season, while expecting the first result of Dindi project by December. Mr Rao reviewed the works in progress on canals under the Musi project, Dindi and Udaya Samudram projects at Jala Soudha here on Tuesday. “We have 2.64 tmc in the Musi project and officials should ensure irrigation water facility to farmers using the on-off method.
We have to ensure the first benefit of Dindi project to the public by December” said Mr Rao.
Officials briefed the minister that 21 km of works out of 51.5 km plan had been completed. The works had slowed down due to lack of land acquisition, said officials. Responding to this, Mr Rao directed officials concerned to speed up the land acquisition drive and said the government would resolve all the issues in this regard.
As part of the 66 km Pilaipalli canal, 23.58 km of works have been completed. Mr Rao directed the officials to complete Singarajupalli under package-1 of Dindi Lift Irrigation project. He said Gottimukkala reservoir under package-3 should be speeded up so that people can witness first result of the project in December.
