Kerala: Owners to close down petrol pumps on July 11

As part of the protest, the petrol pumps are boycotting premium petroleum products from oil companies from Sunday.

Kochi: The Petroleum Dealers Co-ordination Committee (PDCC), which is the joint council of petrol pump owners, has decided to close petrol pumps on July 11 demanding transparency in daily pricing of petroleum products. As part of the protest, the petrol pumps are boycotting premium petroleum products from oil companies from Sunday. They also have decided not to take stock from July 8 before proceeding to strike on July 11. They also said that a total of 2,200 petrol pumps are controlled by the PDCC.

They claimed that all pumps which are not controlled by the oil companies and belonging to other individuals, will take part in the stir. The office-bearers also said that they will march on the day to the IOC state headquarters at Panampilli Nagar here and hold a dharna. They said that they are forced to incur losses by selling petroleum products at less prices than they were bought on a daily basis. They said that Petroleum Ministry is colluding with oil companies to cheat the traders.
