TTD sets up Vedic Heritage Corridor at Sri Venkateswara Vedic University

TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has taken a significant step to preserve and impart ancient knowledge by establishing a Vedic Heritage Corridor at the Sri Venkateswara Vedic University. The corridor aims to explore and disseminate 190 aspects embedded in the Vedas, including space science, management strategies, mathematics, health management, yoga and diet, among others.

TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy, during a media interaction in Tirumala on Sunday, announced that the Sri Venkateswara Bhakti TV channel plans to telecast a 10-minute episode on each aspect of ancient Indian knowledge. These episodes will be shared on social media platforms, enabling devotees to adapt this wisdom to their modern lifestyles.

He further said that the Maharashtra government has granted 10 acres of land in Navi Mumbai for the construction of a Sri Venkateswara temple. Gautam Singhania, chairman and managing director of Raymond Ltd., has donated ₹100 crore for the construction of the temple. The groundbreaking ceremony is set to take place on June 7. Distinguished dignitaries, including the Maharashtra Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and others will take part in the ceremony.

Dharma Reddy also said the TTD will host the grand Maha Samprokshanam (to synergise the mystic power of the deity) for the new temple from June 3 to 8 at Majin village in Jammu. This will be performed on 60 acres of land granted by the government at a cost of ₹30 crore.

Elaborating on the arrangements made at Tirumala to manage the summer rush, Dharma Reddy said in order to accommodate a larger number of common devotees for Srivari Darshan, the TTD has decided to limit VIP break darshan privilege to only protocol VIPs until July 15. The discretionary quota of Suprabatha Seva and other darshans has been cancelled. “All departments within the TTD are diligently coordinating their efforts to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience. However, during periods of heavy crowds, devotees without tokens may experience a wait time of up to two days for Srivari Darshan,” the TTD EO said and appealed to devotees to remain patient during such circumstances.
