T P Senkumar gets clean chit in six complaints
Thiruvananthapuram: In major relief for State Police Chief T. P. Senkumar, the Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau on Saturday gave a clean chit in connection with six complaints filed against him. The Vigilance submitted a report before the vigilance court here stating that there was not enough evidence for registering a case or conducting investigation. The agency pointed out that the complaints were baseless in nature not find any evidence against the officer. It concluded the complaints were not genuine. The court will take up the VACB report on July 4. Coming as it is in the midst of a face-off between the government and him, the vigilance report has surely come as a shot in the arm for the state police chief.
Many believe an adverse report from vigilance could have come handy for the government for putting the officer in the dock. The government had recently given sanction to prosecute Senkumar in connection with a complaint filed by police headquarters Additional IG V Gopalakrishnan. The government had also shifted his personal staff without taking him into confidence. These actions from the government came after Senkumar was reinstated by the Supreme Court as State Police Chief.
