HYDERABAD: Endowments minister A. Indrakaran Reddy on Wednesday declared that state government has restored the past glory of temples in Telangana.
Inaugurating the newly constructed Sitaramachandra Swamy Temple at Nagaramgutta in Konaraopet mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district, Indrakaran said previous governments never bothered about development of temples in the state.
But the BRS government is allocating separate funds for renovating temples and is also constructing new temples. In addition, it is paying honorarium to the temple priests, he pointed out.
The minister said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is giving equal importance and respect to all religions and communities. He is striving hard for development of every one, he stated.
Devotees from surrounding villages participated in large numbers in the inauguration of the new temple. They also took part in the Sitaramachandra Swamy Kalyana Mahotsavam on the occasion and offered prayers to the presiding deities.
State Planning Board vice chairman B. Vinod Kumar, former Maharashtra governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, MLA Ch. Ramesh Babu, ZP chairperson N. Aruna, Powerloom Textile Corporation chairman G. Praveen, Rythu Bandhu president G. Narasaiah, RDO Pavan Kumar, Vemulawada municipal chairperson R. Madhavi and temple committee chairman and MPP A. Chandraiah Goud were among those present on the occasion.
