Telangana HC orders stay on property demolition, directs utilisation for parking
Hyderabad: Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the municipal authorities to not demolish the property of a petitioner. J. Swapna, subject to filling an undertaking that she would utilise the stilt and ground floor for parking. The petitioner had questioned the municipal authorities in demolishing her property in Dew Drops Colony, Bolaram, Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The GHMC contended that the petitioner had constructed an unauthorised structure against the sanctioned plan. The judge adjourned the matter to June 9.
Court lets med student attend class
The Telangana High Court on Thursday allowed B. Vruthika Reddy to attend medical classes. She had filed a petition against the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Science decision to disqualify her for a period of one year from appearing for exams or attending classes after being booked for malpractice. She informed the court that the only allegation against her was that she carried a mobile phone along with her to write an exam. She said she had appeared before an inquiry committee and tendered an apology but she had not been given the inquiry report. Justice B Vijaysen Reddy, while granting interim orders allowing her to attend the classes and write exams, directed that the results must not be declared. The judge directed the university standing counsel to produce the inquiry report.
HC reserves seat for kid in KV under RTE
Justice M. Sudheer Kumar of the Telangana High Court on Thursday granted interim relief in a writ petition pertaining to admission to a school. The judge was dealing with a petition filed by Bommakanti Venkatesh who sought his son to be admitted in the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Karimnagar. The petitioner contented that the school refused admission as the petitioner resided 7.5 km away and, according to the Right to Education (RTE) quota, the admission was for children residing within 5 km. The judge, considering the school admission process, directed the authorities to reserve a seat for the child and posted the matter for further adjudication to June 12.
Interim relief in funds misappropriation case
The Telangana High Court granted interim relief in a matter related to misappropriation of funds of Golden Jubilee Hotels Pvt Ltd. Justice M. Sudheer Kumar was dealing with a petition filed by Neha Gambhir and two others. They contended that the bank accounts of Golden Jubilee Hotels were frozen on the account of alleged fraud and the CBI and ED had stepped in without fair classification of the alleged fraud. CBI counsel stated that in issues relating to misappropriation of public funds, the CBI and ED had jurisdiction to proceed. The judge directed the agencies to not take coercive measures against the petitioner and directed the petitioner to cooperate with the investigation.
HC seeks report on boycott of Mudirajs
Justice M. Sudheer Kumar of the Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the police to file a report in a case where the Ramannapet village had imposed social boycott against 300 families belonging to the Mudiraj community. The judge was dealing with a petition filed by Jagarla Ganga Narsaiah, a resident of Nizamabad, questioning the non-implementation of the provisions of the Prevention of Social Disabilities Act. It was contented that village development committee and others imposed the social boycott. The judge, questioning the state of affairs, directed the Nizambad police commissioner to look into the issue and a report to filed by June 19.
