KCR opens Delhi office with national ambitions at full throttle

CM met with party leaders to discuss plans to accelerate activities at the national level

Hyderabad: BRS supremo and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, the man on a mission to make a strong political statement with national ambitions, inaugurated the BRS central office at Vasant Vihar in New Delhi on Thursday on an impressive scale, with ministers, party MPs, MLAs and MLCs and senior politicians in full attendance.

Soon after the central office was inaugurated, the CM met with party leaders to discuss plans to accelerate activities at the national level after the announcement of the Karnataka Assembly election results on May 13. Rao also discussed plans to open party offices in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh later this month.

The CM, who took a special flight to Delhi on Thursday morning. The CM hoisted the BRS flag on the office premises shortly after his arrival. At 1.05 pm, Rao cut the ribbon to inaugurate the BRS Bhavan, amid priests chanting Vedic hymns. The CM took part in special homam and Sudarshana Yagam. Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Legislative Council chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy were present on the occasion.

After inaugurating the BRS building, the CM occupied his seat in the first floor and assumed charge by signing some official documents. The office was designed as per the Vastu Shastra standards. Separate chambers were allotted to the BRS president and working president. Along with these, a total of 18 rooms are available in the BRS Bhavan for other purposes. A spacious meeting hall will be used for the party meetings in the BRS Bhavan.

All along the two-kilometre stretch leading to the BRS office, posters and banners welcoming the CM were erected. The office was filled with religious fervour, with yagams and priests reciting Vedic 'mantras'. Since the morning, a large number of BRS workers have flocked to the new office, infusing a great deal of excitement among the leaders and party members.

Despite stringent security restrictions, party leaders and activists turned in large numbers to welcome the BRS chief with floral bouquets. The party leaders and workers indulged in big celebrations after the inauguration of the office. The Telangana and Delhi police put in place heavy security arrangements at the venue. Security was ramped up from Vasant Vihar Metro station to the BRS Bhavan. The traffic was stopped for a while for the passage of the CM's convoy.

The Chief Minister returned to Hyderabad in the evening.
