Hanumantha Rao invites KTR to inaugurate Ambedkar statue

HYDERABAD: After winning a legal battle to get back a bronze Ambedkar statue seized by the police in 2019, Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao announced on Monday that it would be installed in Punjagutta, at the same location originally
envisaged.

He also invited minister K.T. Rama Rao to unveil the statue of Ambedkar
Jayanthi, after completing the formalities to get it released from the
Goshamahal Police Station.

The Congress leader visited the police station on Monday and took stock of
the condition of the statue.

“It was a long-drawn battle to get back the statue and I invited KTR to
unveil it. I also spoke to the Mayor regarding the matter. The statue was
lying at Goshamahal police station for about three and half years and today
was the auspicious day it was released after panchanama,” he said.
