Two-day beach festival at Chitrapura Beach

The two-day event will be held on April 30 and May 1

Mangaluru: As the pandemic crisis eases with lifting of restrictions, festivals, celebrations and other events are being organised with much fervour. Having vast shoreline, annual beach festivals are being held in all coastal districts of Karnataka. These festivals are major crowd pullers and tourist attraction.

After a hiatus, various organisations have joined together to conduct the famous beach festival at Chitrapura Beach near Mangaluru as part of the May Day celebration. The event is being conducted jointly by Mogaveera Mahasabha-Panambur, INTUC and various youth organizations.

The two-day event will be held on April 30 and May 1.

“The Boat race will be the major attraction of the festival. A food festival to exhibit the culinary skills of the local people is also being organised,” said Madhav Suvarna, president of Mogaveera Mahasabha –Panambur.

Surfing activities and other water sports events will be part of the festival which will attract water sports lovers.

“We expect the event to be a big success. Such events will help in boosting tourism in the region,” former president of Panambur Beach tourism development project Yathish Baikampady added.
