Kudumbashree mission notifies 288 vacancies
Thiruvananthapuram: After months of functioning without enough staff, Kudumbashree has finally notified its vacancies. The mission’s programmes were greatly affected during these months, as there were not enough people to act as facilitators, according to officials. Notification for 288 vacancies has been published, according to Kudumbashree Executive Director S Harikishore. “We have got a lot of applications already. The last date of application is February 10. Vacancies will soon be filled,” he said.
After the new government came to power, it took several months for Kudumbashree to reconstitute its governing body. The process to notify vacancies got delayed for this reason according to sources. The number of field staff was fairly limited during this time, and for an organisation which does a lot of grassroots work this was a major problem. In the capital, Kudumbashree District Mission has been functioning with just three people, in the place of five. Many programmes have been getting delayed because of this.
