KOZHIKODE: The KSRTC staff staged a protest march and sit-in in front of the KSRTC bus terminal in Kozhikode on Friday in protest against the delay in disbursing salary for the employees. Though the agitation was led by KSRTC Drivers’ Union affiliated to INTUC the workers of KSRTC Staff Welfare Association and KSRTC employees’ union (AITUC) also participated in the agitation.
The leaders of the organization in a press release said that though there were many promises in the past, so far there were no concrete steps taken to ensure salary in time. “We have no money left to give fee for students, monthly payment of milkman, the newspaper man and many more, the release said. “Government should ensure ways and means to ensure salary for the employees on time”, the release said.
