Nawab Bashir Yar Jung passes away
Nawab Bashir Yar Jung was the son of Nawab Waliud-Dowla and grandson of Viqar-ul-Umra, who built the famous Falaknuma Palace.
Hyderabad: Hyderabad lost one of its distinguished citizens on Saturday with the passing away of Nawab Muhammad Bashirudin Khan Bahadur, popularly known as Bashir Yar Jung, following a brief illness.
Nawab Bashir Yar Jung was the son of Nawab Waliud-Dowla and grandson of Viqar-ul-Umra, who built the famous Falaknuma Palace. An aeronautical engineer, he was well-known in elite circles.
He is survived by his wife Begum Saleha Sultan of Bhopal, the daughter of Sajida Sultan and Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, and four sons. Among them, Saad bin Jung played cricket for Indian and is a famous writer/columnist.
