Hyderabad: Debt-ridden dengue victim hangs himself
Hyderabad: A 39 year-old man who spent `1 lakh on his treatment for dengue and went into depression because of his debts, committed suicide by hanging, under Kukatpally police station limits.
The deceased, identified as Y. Narashimhulu, 39, was a watchman.
According to his wife, Y. Lalitha, the family went into debt after marrying off their second daughter recently.
Narashimulu bought an auto and was ferrying it to clear debts for the last six months.
He was infected with dengue and it cost him `1 lakh to get it treated, as a result of which he went into debt again. On Friday night, he came home and slept. In the middle of the night, he disappeared. When his family members started searching for him and went to the terrace, they found him hanging from a tree branch from which he had hung himself with a rope.
