Chennai: A 27-year-old policeman died after he allegedly slipped and fell from the third floor of the police training college in Ashok Nagar on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as G Jawahar, a native of Vellore. He was attached to the Armed Reserve and was posted on duty at the police training college. On Wednesday afternoon, he was talking in his mobile phone and walking on the third floor corridor when he reportedly slipped and fell from the third floor. Hearing the thud, other cops rushed to find Jawahar lying in a pool of blood.
He was secured and moved to a hospital where he was devalued brought dead. K K Nagar police secured the body and moved it to Rajiv Gandhi government general hospital for autopsy. “Jawahar was with another constable, Sitrarasan. We suspect him to have fallen down while attempting to get hold of his mobile phone,” a police official said.
