Fever cases at Kilpauk medical college hospital, RGGGH come down.

CHENNAI: The number of dengue and suspicious fever patients is witnessing a decline after widespread rains hit Tamil Nadu. Anti-dengue measures undertaken by state health department coupled with fresh lashes of rain are to bring down mosquito breeding in the city, say government hospital authorities in Chennai. Though cases are not decreasing rapidly, the number of fever patients has decreased and dengue cases remain controlled, said Dr Ravi Chandran, dean, Institute of Child Health. “Currently, the number of fever cases reported at the hospital is 148, which is around 50 cases less than number of cases reported last month. The dengue patients at the hospital are 20,” he said.

A decreasing trend of cases is also being witnessed at Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) Hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH). While the numbers of fever and dengue cases at KMC are 152 and 34, RGGGH records 44 dengue cases and 204 fever cases currently. Though a decrease in fever cases have been reported at Stanley Medical College (SMC) Hospital, dengue cases have risen there. The total fever patients are close to 160, while dengue cases are 38, which was only 13 in number last month.
