Chikati Appa Rao, a fisherman from Pothayyapeta village in the Etcherla mandal of Srikakulam died on Saturday
Visakhapatnam: Chikati Appa Rao, a 50-year-old fisherman hailing from Pothayyapeta village in the Etcherla mandal of Srikakulam, tragically lost his life due to injuries sustained in Veraval, Gujarat, on Saturday.
According to reports from the mandal, while he was out at sea with fellow fishermen, a sharp-edged weapon pierced his abdomen, causing a severe injury. He was rushed to a hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment.
Assistant director of Fisheries Gangadhar stated that he is in contact with Gujarat officials to facilitate the repatriation of Appa Rao's body.
