Hyderabad: A 61-year-old man and his daughter were seriously injured after the scooter on which they were travelling was hit by a DCM van in Bowenpally on Wednesday. The girl was on her way to college with her father when the mishap happened. Her condition is said to be critical while her father is out of danger, police said.
S. Vijay Kumar and his teenaged daughter S.M. Vaishnavi were on their way to Secunderabad from Kanojiguda. When they reached Bowenpally main road, Vijay Kumar lost control of his vehicle and both fell off the vehicle. A DCM van, which was behind them, hit the scooter and ran over Vaishnavi, severely injuring her.
Locals rushed them to a hospital in Kompally. A case has been registered against the van driver and further investigation is underway, Bowenpally additional inspector V. Sardar Naik said.
