HC directs Etala’s son to implead original land assignees over land-grab suit
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Tuesday extended by two weeks an interim relief order issued to the proprietor of Jamuna Hatcheries, Etala Nitin Reddy, the son of ex-minister and BJP MLA Etala Rajendar, in a case of alleged misappropriation of land.
The bench of Justice M. Sudheer Kumar directed Nitin Reddy to implead the original assignee of three acres that are under contention and scheduled the next hearing for August 16.
The case was initiated by the tahsildar of Masaipet and revenue officials, who moved the court claiming that land measuring three acres, under Survey No. 130 in Achampet village of Masaipet mandal in Medak, were assigned to an economically weaker section family by the government decades ago.
Counsel for the hatchery argued that the land was purchased from the assignees, but the government’s counsel contended that the sale or transaction was invalid as it alienated the family of the allottees.
The court issued an interim stay order, directing revenue officials not to interfere with the constructions on the three acres.
